Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 10:9-10
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

2 Cor 1:21-22
Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

Many people who have become Christians mention something about saying 'the prayer'. There is no magic formula, there is no set script, just a change of heart (what the bible calls repentance) in repsonse to what Jesus has done. All you need to do is talk to your heavenly Father in your own words, about the mistakes and bad choices you have made in thought, word and action. Thank Him for sending Jesus to take your place when the price had to be paid. Then ask Him to come into your life in a real way so He can be both Lord and Saviour. There is the promise of the Holy Spirit who will then live inside of you helping you to grow as a new creation. The words in the column on the left are 'scripture' from the bible. They might help you pray.

It wont all be plain sailing from then but with His help you are set free for a much bigger adventure in this world and the next.

Remember, we can always put it straight with Him: "But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong" (1John1:9)
