Father Heart course
'And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, "Abba, Father."' (Paul's Letter to the Galatian Church, chapter 4, verse 6).
What is God like? Jesus taught us that He is 'Abba', 'Daddy' - what does that mean, what would it feel like to relate to God like that?
For many God seems distant - a benevolent (or not so benevolent) authority figure. Expecting standards too high to reach; more interested in obedience than relationship; more concerned that His will gets done, than in our well-being in doing it. We can relate to Jesus... but God as 'Daddy' seems impossible, even irreverent, disrespectful. Sometimes our life experience tells us that “daddy” isn't so wonderful anyway - do we want to make our hearts vulnerable, if God is the kind of father we have experienced so far in life?
In our Fatherheart courses we explore what this amazing Father God is really like. We look at the reasons why most of us live our lives like orphans, and His heart for us to come home, and what it means to experience life as a son/daughter of the perfect Father.
Courses run typically three times a year; either spread over seven weeks, or an intensive weekend. Contact our church office for details of our next course; in the meantime you can find more information on www.fatherheartworld.net
